Common questions
What is Fixum, and how is it different?
Fixum is a household budget for EU and especially German users. Instead of classic envelope budgeting, it spreads recurring bills across the month and sets money aside for non-monthly ones. A YNAB alternative built for European payment rhythms.
How does the budgeting model work?
You enter your recurring payments at whatever frequency they bill. Fixum breaks annual and quarterly amounts down to a monthly figure and shows how much you can safely spend this month, plus how much to set aside for upcoming bills.
Is my data private, and where does it live?
Your data lives in a database run by Supabase in Frankfurt, and the app runs on Vercel in the Frankfurt region, with backups kept in the EU. We work GDPR-compliant, with no ad tracking and no sharing of your data.
Why no bank sync?
On purpose. Your bank login stays with your bank, we never ask for it. What we do not store cannot leak. Fixum is built around a handful of recurring items: you enter them once, and because you enter them yourself, your numbers are correct and always editable.
What does it cost?
Fixum is still pre-launch. You can try the demo for free without an account. Pricing for the finished version is not set yet.
Can I use it with my partner or household?
Yes. Invite your partner or roommates into your household. Everyone sees the same numbers in one shared view, with no separate accounts to reconcile.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can export your data anytime. If you delete your account, we remove the data for good, with no quiet soft-delete copies.
